Team Building on the Great Wall of China

Mountaineering up to the Great Wall of China was part of the MB it Consulting team building event, encouraging employees from China and Denmark to get to know each other better, and to explore similarities and differences in cultures and way of working. The event took place on 16th of September, 2011.

Originally, the Great Wall of China was built to protect China from foreign invasion. This is no longer the case, as China is interacting with people and businesses around the world, and people from all over the world are visiting the wall every day.

Similar to the unique concept of MB it-Consulting of technological driven HR consultancy with offices in Denmark and China, the company's approach to a team building event was equally unique. Why take the easy way, when you get the best results by choosing off-road climbing to reach the Great Wall?

This mountaineering approach had some clear advantages. Moving ahead on a difficult path forces you to work together, a key objective of team building events. Another welcome result was that the team had a section of the wall completely for itself with no tourists or other "competitors" and a magnificent overview of the Great Wall and the surrounding landscape.
